Day Two of the 10 Days of Awe: The Should'ves and the Could'ves
“It is necessary ... for a man to go away by himself ... to sit on a rock ... and ask, 'Who am I, where have I been, and where am I going?”
Day Two Question: Is there something that you wish you had done differently this past year?
Alternatively, is there something you're especially proud of from this past year?
In my counseling practice I am often encouraging others to look for the positives in their lives. Life has enough negatives coming at us. Baring down on the Should’ves and the Could’ves are a certain path to a gloomy existence. But in day two of the Days of Awe I encourage you to find a quiet moment for contemplation on this very thing. Use that negative experience as a catalyst for change; like it’s an artifact of great interest to you-- something that you can learn from. Then end your mediation by thinking of an accomplishment that makes you feel proud.
Five minutes is all it takes. Go!
